No, because we all have to accept responsibility for our own actions. I accept this is not an actual parallel: I was once in a group given a command to do something and another member of the group said to us that this command was illegal. There was a 'discussion' for want of a better description. Views were exchanged. The outcome was that we decided to obey what we knew was an illegal command & argue about it later. In other words we did what we were told. We obeyed orders. No I am not condoning what the Nazis did in any way. But the reality was that they had no real choice. It was the same in the recruitment for the Soviet prisoners into the Whermacht: 'Will you sign up to join the Whermacht ?' 'No' and he gets shot dead..... the remainder sign up. No, I do not agree with the defence. Yes, I am saying the reality was that there were no realistic alternatives to doing what they actually did. The orders were illegal & immoral & indefencible but they were unavoidable.
No, I do not agree with this defense. The principle of individual responsibility holds that individuals have a moral obligation to act ethically, regardless of orders given by superiors. Ignoring this principle and citing orders as justification does not absolve individuals of their role in committing atrocities, such as those seen during the Holocaust.
During the Nuremberg Trials, the defendants used various defenses such as claiming they were following orders, denying knowledge of the atrocities, and arguing that the charges were politically motivated. Some defendants also sought to shift blame onto others or downplay their own role in the crimes.

The Numberg law refers to the body of laws established by the victorious Allies after World War II to bring Nazi war criminals to justice. When 5-star general Dwight D. Eisenhower witnessed the liberation of Ohrdruf concentration camp, he knew people would deny it and he wanted the entire camp filmed. Today, there are some people who deny the Holocaust; all of them are anti-Semitic and hate Jews for one reason or another.
This is a delicate subject, to say the least. On the whole, American Jews were keen to avoid looking 'unpatriotic' by pressing for specifically Jewish war aims.(See Peter Novick, The Holocaust in American Life). Elie Wiesel has criticized American Jews quite sharply, claiming that they did nothing at the time.
