is it using water? is there pressure when you unscrew the cap off the header tank? the oil cap will have a kind of fur on it when u unscrew it and sometimes car will blow white smoke from the exhaust because water will get in the engine
A garage will probablt charge anywhere between £300 and £800, get plenty of quotes, but make sure you get the head gasket correctly diagnosed first
head gasket gone, depending on where the gasket fails determins the visual affects of gasket failure
I had a similar problem. When i took it into the garage they told me that the head gasket had gone and it was mis-firing. It was completely destroyed and i had to replace the engine, so get it seen to fast.
Maybe, but not necessarily. Why did it need to be replaced the first time? Was that problem ever fixed?
you will have antifreeze in your oil!
gasket is gone
When oil and water are combined in the engine it will form a white frothy mixture which will be evident on the dipstick. Definate indicator of a blown head-gasket
A bad head gasket can do that or an engine oil cooler gone bad in the radiator. The year, make and model info would help.
Well mine is currently in a garage being fixed and it's having a new head gasket fitted also a cambelt cause apparently might as well do it the same time engine flush coolant oil basically the works and it's going to be around £420.. We had about 10. Quotes and they were all roughly between 300 & 500 so gone for a good well known family garage
feel the top radiater hose and see if it gets warm, if not the thermostat is dead, if your head gasket has gone, check for steam coming from exhaust tailpipe.
had gone and has been gone are in past . had gone is sometime before he or she had gone but has been gone is long time before . had gone is compared to gone and has been gone is the superlative of all....
I believe that if a gasket is employed, then the need for gasket seal in a tube is gone, however, your gasket should be torqued to manufacturer's specifications. Yet, it doesn't hurt to have both.
