I have 4 Dodge Trucks. '89 2wd automatic @ 22 mpg (driving normal) and 17 mpg acting stupid with it (pump is turned up). '94 4wd Manual @ 18 mpg (all stock work truck). '96 4wd automatic @ 19 mpg (all stock), '98 24v 4wd automatic 18 mpg (driving normal) and 14.5 mpg acting stupid with it (575 hp and still finding weak links).

I have had 12 valve cummins and 24 valve cummins all were good engines but had weak transmissions. My fords have never let me down. EVER! I hate the 6.0 liter engines and the new 6.4 liter is the worst yet but trust me hands down the 7.3 is the longest lasting diesel on the road today. If you don't belive me look it up.

Both have electrical problems and the transmission in my 2006 isn't great and that's with stock power and only 93,000 miles. The 12-valve Cummins is all mechanical- easy and cheap to get power out of it. The 24-valve Cummins is computerized- have to buy a programmer. The best combination would be a Cummins in a Chevy.
