A BSN is a bachelor's degree as compared to an associates, so yes BSN is better. ---- It only takes an Associate's Degree to obtain an RN. A BSN (Bachelor's in Nursing Science) is the next educational step further and can bring higher income as well as further opportunities/responsibilities in nursing. The same goes for MSN (Master's in Nursing Science).
A registered nurse is a registered nurse (RN). However, there are RNs with various levels of education as follows.
* Diploma Program (usually hospital based) * Associates Degree * Bachelors Degree (BSN) * Master's Degree (typically a nurse practitioner) * Doctorate Degree (relatively a new degree for nurses)
If you received your nursing education at the associates level, then it is possible to becaome an RN before you are a BSN. At the bachelor's level, you will become a BSN before you become an RN because you cannot take the NCLEX until your education is completed.
I would suggest moving onto The Bachelor's degree (BSN). It will open up more doors or opportunity, it will set the stage for movement to a nurse practitioner, and will make you more marketable.
It is referred to as a bachelor in science in nursing (BSN).
An RN will get you in the door, and get you working as a nurse. To get into management, you will probably need the BSN.
A college degree is always better in terms of your job marketability, and should you decide at a later date to continue your education.

All states accept RNs with an associate degree. However, it would be better to continue on in pursuit of the bachelor's degree, for the future could bring about some changes. The higher the degree the better.

Becoming a traveling nurse requires no more schooling than becoming a permanent nurse. Nurses can become a registered nurse with a 2 year associate's degree or they can choose to get a bachelors degree in 4 years. Either degrees qualifies them to become an RN, however a BSN will give them better opportunities for career advancement and will allow them to pursue a a MSN in the future.
Well usually after high school you can go and study to become a RN (registered nurse) that most of the time is necassary. Then once you are a RN you can have a bit more studying that will give you good education to become a neonatal nurse. With this education you have a better chance of a high salary and a good position but in some hospitals they give you a couple moths of training without previouse knowledge but you won't have the benefits of a educated nurse would.
