well what ya wanna try is looking under the back bumper and reach your hand over the top of the gas tank and follow the electrical wires back toward the rear bumper. if there is no wire that means your missing a ground. also before that check the fuses. i have the same problem right now. also check and see if your fuel gauge is getting eough power. non of my gauges worked in my elcamino, so i took my gauge cluster out and sanded the connections on the circuit board. also if this all fails you might just have to drop the tank and replace the float. good luck
