No !!! at least 06 and before, I recommend using Shell gasoline. In my region it is a few cents more than the competetors, but I get about 25 mpg city with Shell v-power 93 oct, on the base model, though it is not suggested to use premium fuel on the base engine, I find the 93 oct fuel helps quiet engine operation, (the higher the octane the less chance of spark knock, especially with a high reving motor like the Toyota 1.8!) If you can't stand to pay the extra 20 or so per gallon, I recommend at least use 89 oct. With others, BP(Amoco), Mobil, Marathon, I only was able to get 21 or 22 (tops) MPG (City) personally I do not recommend Speedway and Clark, they may be cheaper but the quality is sub-par.
If it is a Flex Fuel vehicle, YES. If not, NO.
One can purchase a used 2004 Pontiac Vibe from CarMax for $10,998. The AutoTrader website states the price of a used 2004 Pontiac Vibe ranges from $7,025 to $7.450.
The Pontiac Vibe GT with the (1.8L 4cyl ) requires Premium Unleaded. The use of Regular Unleadedmay lead to predetonation or what is commonly called pinging. Although you may not be able to hear it, itmay be there. The Vibe's fuel/air managment system may be able to adjust for the regular fuel somewhat but at a cost of mileage and power. The engine requires Premium fuel, so burn Premium fuel. Burn Regular Unleaded and you risk engine damage.
You mean Toyota? Geo Prizm, Pontiac Vibe and Lotus
Probably not. My 2009 Vibe won't run it and since the 2010 was the last year model, I doubt seriously that any major modifications were made to the Vibe. I believe all GM vehicles that run E85 have a yellow gas cap, and an E85 sticker on the inside of the gas door (and a FlexFuel decal on the car somewhere?).
Yes, use only 87 octane regular. Using any higher octane is a total waste of money and provides no benefit whatsoever. The only engine that needs a higher octane fuel is the GT which had a Yamaha designed engine. it does require premium fuel.
OEM is AC/Delco
To find pricing on a used 2005 Pontiac GTO, go to Kelly Blue Book. They are the standard used by dealers and buyers for what is fair pricing for used vehicles. They will list prices for a vehicle based on condition and age.
I have always used a variable strap wrench for oil filters. This way you can do many with one cheap tool.
If the car is a Flex-Fuel vehicle then yes you can use E85. If it is not a Flex-Fuel vehicle you cannot use E85. Using E85 will damage components. As far as I know your 2006 Pontiac G6 is not a Flex-Fuel vehicle. Reads your owner's manual to be sure.
Also an adjustable wrench works great and can be used on multiple tasks other than changing oil!
Yes they are, but the two cables that are attached to the actuator are not. You will have to switch those out (very easy) as the Toyota cables are about 2" longer than the Vibe's. Toyota also used the same actuator in the 2009 Corolla, but be careful regarding the front right (passenger) because it is not interchangeable as the Corolla does not have a keyed entry on that door (and the Vibe and Matrix do). Just paid $100 for a used 2009 Corolla front left actuator at a junk yard and it works great in my 2009 Vibe. Hooray! Saved $160 on the part!
