The Eurozone borders do not cover the whole of Europe. Nor did they match the borders of the Schengen travel zone.

Yes they can be used in other countries that use the euro. The euro is one currency, but different variations of the coins are issued in each country. One side of the coin is the same in all countries, and the other side is particular to that country. Coins from any country can be used in any other country that uses the euro. This is one of its advantages for people. They do not have to change currency or coins when travelling to Another Country that uses the euro. The notes are the same in all of the countries.
