You cannot get out from under a student loan. If you have the ability to pay back the loan do so as quickly as possible as your interest will rapidly increase the principle, especially if part of your garnishment is not covering it.
No. Wages may only be garnished by government entities in the state of Oklahoma. However, if the payday loan company took the time to obtain a judgement against the debtor, that judgement may be enforced through garnishing (but through the courts, not by the payday loan providers). One can, however, have multiple government agencies garnishing wages at the same time.
Yes, this is legal. However, you can contest it if you do not have enough income to live on. Provide documentation of living expenses when you contest it.
No - if you've defaulted on payments to the card company, they have the right to recover their money by any legal means. By the time they're telling you they're about to garnish your wages, they've usually sent numerous reminder letters - which you've obviously ignored.
In the US, a student loan collection company that is garnishing your wages will already have a court judgment against you. You can get out of the judgment and garnishment by consolidating your loans. Click the link at the bottom of this text box to get help with the consolidation of your loans.
Even if a credit card company sues you and wins, the judge can only say that you do owe the money. He can attach a lien to your credit file which would prevent any new creditors from granting credit until the debt is taken care of. If you are in bankruptcy the rules change, each state has different laws. If the credit card company sues and receives a judgment in their favor your wages can be garnished up to an amount set by your state's laws.

Yes they can garnish your wages. If it is out of State collections, one of two things has to happen for your wages to be garnished. First, if the company you work for has Nexus in California, your wages are fair play. If the company does not have Nexus in California, the garnishing agency will have to get an Attorney's General referral for out of State collections.
