AnswerI am assuming this is a V8. The V6 4.2 liter was used from 1997 on, and the 4.9 in-line 6 was used 1996 on back. So I may be way off here, because you didn't give much info about your truck, but here goes.Ford V8's typically have two possible firing orders: 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 and 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. The cylinders are numbered on a Ford engine 1-4 on bank #1 and 5-8 on bank #2. The most common mistake people make is treating it like GM product that numbers the cylinders 1,3,5,7 and 2,4,6,8, so don't do that. Bank #1 on a Ford is usually the passenger side. Also, if your vehicle uses a distributer, make sure of the direction of rotation.
