TECHNICALLY you are on probation until the end (midnight) of the day your probation expires. I guess that if you committed a VOP prior to midnight you could be violated.
In theory, you could serve probation to the very last day and still be in violation of such probation and end up in jail/prison. And the courts generally don't give credit for the probation time you've served.
Violating condition of a felony probation in Georgia can carry serious consequences. It can be punishable by jail. For serious probation violations a judge has the power to revoke a probation sentence and send the violator to prison.
If you weren't charged, probably not, unless you are a suspect in something. If I were you I would certainly tell my Probation Officer of the contact though. If nothing else, you'll get points with him for honesty. Your probation rules state that if you have any police contact you have to report it within one day. So you should probably call.
It is strictly up to the probation officer. I think that it also depends on the violation, i.e., is it a technical violation (not reporting, not paying supervision fees, fines) or was there another crime "allegedly" committed. But usually, yes. And as far as the "10 day rule"....that is not true. I have known of people being incarcerated waiting for another state to come pick them up for up to 30 days, not counting weekends. Your question is rather vague. I don't know if said person is currently incarcerated. I think it also depends on when the violation occurred. I am certainly no expert, but am speaking from what I know and what *I* have seen with my own eyes. The best thing to do is to contact the probation officer or the probation office (if the specific officers name is not known). Hope this helps!
This is a question for the guys assigned Probation Officer. Have him call that officer right away as time is of the utmost importance right now. You have one business day to report it to your PO if you get charged with a new crime or you can get in a lot more trouble.
Yes. If you haven't done so already you have to report it to your probation officer because if they don't find out you can get in any more trouble. The rules state that you have one business day to report it to your PO. Usually if you are found innocent they will drop the PV charge but if they are real jerks they could violate you for having the incident. Hope this helps.
if you pay probation but not on the day due do you have time as long as your probation is not up
No you can be violated at anytime time up until the day you get the phone call or get put on court probation that you are no longer on probation.
no
This question makes no sense. Parole begins once released from prison and there is time remaining on the sentence. Probation starts when the Court sentences you to probation.
a day
