The battery charger can be used but it is not recommended. The battery charger does not have filtering on the its output like a power supply does. You will probably hear an AC ripple on the amplifier which will become very annoying when listening to the amplifier.

Can you charge a 6 volt battery with 12 volt charger?

No. A 12 v battery will actually have a charged peak voltage of 13.54v or 13.58v. A six volt charger will have around a max 7.5v voltage. The 6v charger will think the battery has peaked and will discontinue charging.

How many watts does a 36 volt battery charger use?

Not sure about how many Watts your 36 volt charger uses, but you can find out by this formula... Volts X Amps = Watts.

Can you use an 18 volt charger to charge a 14.4 volt battery?

Yes, a standard battery charger produces 13.8 volts when it is charging a battery. If you are thinking of using a charger that you plug into the wall that is used for electronic equipment, don't. The battery usually wants more amperage that they can produce and the device usually will burn out.

Can you use a 3.5 amp charger to charge a 12 volt battery?

You can charge a 12 volt battery with a 6 AMP charger. The amount of amps put out by the charger is actually the rate which the power flows out from the charger, not the amount of volts it will charge. Volts and Amps are two different things. You can't charge up a 12 volt battery all the way, using a 6 volt charger. You can charge a 12 volt battery with a 12 volt charger rated at '6 amps'. It will charge the battery faster than a 2 amp charger will, but it will take longer than using a 12 amp charger. You probably don't want to use anything higher than a 12-16 amp charger for charging a 12 volt battery. Some chargers are equipped with a 60amp boost charge that is used for starting the vehicle, without having much of a charge in the battery. You DO NOT want to attempt charging a battery with it set to a 60amp boost charge. That is for starting vehicles only and could damage your battery. Keep in mind that the lower the amps are, that you use to charge the battery (1-2amps), will result in the charge lasting longer without recharging it, than if it was charged up at a higher setting (12-16amps).

Can a 12-volt solar battery charger charge a 36-volt battery?

No, a 12-volt charger cannot charge a 36-volt battery. The electrical potential difference across the leads of a charger must exceed the electrical potential difference across the terminals of any battery it is expected to charge. And 12 volts is much less than 36 volts.WHY?The 36-volt battery would require at least 39.3 volts to get to a float charge. This would charge the battery to 80% quickly, and then take a logarithmic period of time to finish the battery. To actually charge the 36-volt battery correctly would require roughly 43.2 volts, but if we can't get 39, this is irrelevant. The 12-volt charger has no chance. The answer above is correct; there is no way the 12-volt charger can charge a 36-volt battery. However, the voltages given apply only to lead-acid batteries. They would be different for nickel metal hydride or lithium cells. You still need a charger with more voltage that the battery voltage in any case.

Can you charge a 5 volt battery with a car charger?

No, an automobile battery charger outputs 12 Volts. This is far too many volts to charge a 5 Volt battery. You would destroy the 5 Volt battery with this charger.

Can you charge battery from ac?

No, it must be charged with a battery charger plugged into 120 volts AC which converts it to 12 volts DC.

What should battery charger needle read?

That depends on the battery, and the charger. my charger has different settings for higher amps to give a faster charge or jump. A fully charged battery will show 12.6 volts. The charger will read it's maximum amperage if the battery is totally discharged. A fully charged battery will read 12.6 volts with a digital DC volt meter. If it reads 12 volts it has less than 25% charge.

How do you charge battery with ac power supply I have a 12 volt dc battery and im trying to charge it with a power supply rated at 0-40 volts 0-5 amps?

You should charge the battery with the proper battery charger. The battery charger should list what types of batteries, voltages, and charge rates (amps) it is compatible with. Make sure this matches the information on the battery to be charged. Using the incorrect battery charger can cause battery explosion, leaking, or fire.

How do you unplug a batery charger from a lawn mower?

A charger is hooked up to a lawnmower battery by attaching the red lead to the positive terminal and the black lead to the negative terminal. The charger is then set to 6 or 12 volts depending on the battery and turned on.

How much electricity does it take to charge a car battery?

No matter if it is a 6 volt or a 12 volt battery, the amount of power it takes to charge it depends on its "charge capacity", measured in ampere-hours. A 60 A-h battery needs half the amount of power to charge it as a 120 A-h battery. The amount of power you have to supply from a battery charger depends on how old the battery is and also on how old the battery charger is. The older they are, the more power they will waste during the battery charging period. Very roughly, a nominal 12 volt 60 A-h battery in good condition but "flat" requires about 5 amps of current supplied at between about 15 to 17 volts (which the battery charger unit should take care of automatically) for about 13 to 15 hours. When the battery has been fully charged and disconnected from the charger, its voltage should be around 13.6 volts when it is not supplying any load current. The electrical power needed to do that would be roughly equal to 17 volts x 5 amps x 15 hours = 1275 watts.

Charge a motorcycle battery?

Motorcycle batteries may be 6 volt rather than 12 (check this) and if they are 6 volts, switch your battery charger to 6 volts or you may damage the battery.

How many hours does a lawn mower battery have to be on a float charger?

A battery float charger is intended only to keep a fully charged battery from losing its charge. It will NOT work to charge a battery that is discharged or damaged. Check the voltage of the battery to be charged. Do not use charger if the battery voltage is less than 9.6 volts.

What is stronger a 1 amp battery charger or a 9v battery?

You cannot compare these two totally different things. As far as amperage the charger puts out more amps if it is an auto battery charger and also puts out 12 volts. If you are talking about a 9 volt battery charger then the battery may or may not be more powerful, it depends on how many mii-amps the charger is putting out.

Can Charge 9v with 12v dc power?

No, not possible. The charger has to go to higher volts than the battery being charged.

Would an 8 volt battery charge on a 12 volt charger?

No chargers usually produce about 1.5 volts above the battery to be charged. By connecting a 12 volt charger to an eight volt battery it will boil the electrolyte in the battery.

Can you charge a battery out of a car?

depends if the battery does not have at least 4 volts in it then ,you will have to find an old time charger Chargers of today have to have a 4 volt signal from the battery being charged to the charger to turn on. You can trick it by putting a battery with at least 4 volts in it and then hook the other battery to the one already hooked up . Hook them parallel charger positive to battery positive and batteryu positive to other battery positive neg same way You do not have to remove battery from car to charge it
