I agree to some extent with the previous answer you were given. However, if you are already in Texas then you can leave already. At the age of 17 you are not a child anymore. Ages 10 to under 17 you are a child. Meaning, if you're 17 then you are not a child!!! OK here is what i know after a lot of research and you can tell a cop this. A letter from the attorney general says the definition of a few things. 1. It is stated that the definition of a child is "person over the age of 10 but under the age of 17". according to that definition a 17 year old is not a child. The definition of a runaway according to the attorney general is "a child who has left home voluntarily without parental consent with no intent to return. once again a 17 year old can not be a runaway if you have to be a child to be considered a runaway. second a missing child report wont work either. once again its for a child. A missing persons report is geared toward adults and doesn't require any action by the police to bring you home if you are located and reasonably safe. hope that helps. The link below shows who I got this information from. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Special:Contributions&target=ip:ID3517535221
You would have to turn 18 because no court will emancipate you so you can move in with granny. The requirements for emancipation is that you live on your own and pay your bills etc. Adults live on their own and do not move in with granny.
No, the minimum age for emancipation in Texas is 16. A 12 year old does not have the legal capacity to petition for emancipation.
You would have to be either eighteen, or legally emancipated to do that, I would imagine.
It would require you to be emancipated by the court first.
To get emancipated you would have to go to the courts and prove you can live on your own. Then you will have to do things on your own because your parents would not be legally responsible for you anymore.
In San Antonio, Texas, you cannot legally leave home without the permission of a parent or guardian. If you want to leave home, you must become an emancipated minor. You would have to petition the court to do so and you would need to prove that you can take care of your self on your own. You will also need a legitimate reason for wanting to become emancipated.
In Texas, the age of majority is 18, which means that individuals are considered adults at that age. However, there are some exceptions where a 17-year-old may be able to move out legally, such as if they are legally emancipated or have permission from a parent or guardian. It is always recommended to consult with a legal expert or attorney for specific advice in these situations.
(In the US) There may be exceptions but, the general answer would be yes. By the time you turn 18 you are legally considered to be an adult in all states and are automatically 'emancipated.'
If she had parental permission and a legal license, she should be okay. If the license was obtained fraudulently, it would be void and she would not be emancipated.
you would need to be emancipated...why would you want to move out?
no you have to be emancipated by a parent, otherwise you would be considered a runaway...
Yes, Georgia gives contractual capacity to emancipated minors. Once a minor is legally emancipated, they are treated as an adult except in ways which would otherwise be prohibited by law, such as consumption of alcohol.
That's a question for an attorney in the state in which you were emancipated. However, assuming the emancipation was not conditional (such as you remaining in the service), you probably are. The real question is this: If you're emancipated, what are you calling "home?" If what you're referring to as "home" is where your parents live, an emancipated individual would be a guest in their home and obviously could be invited to remain (or not) at their pleasure.
