-The response above is the first response to the question, however in Michigan being 1 of only 2 states considers you an adult at the age of 17, not to mention while working WE PAY TAXES also. I've been working part time sense i was 15, I'm now 17. If I'm "considered an adult" and can spend a night in jail, have been paying taxes taken from my paycheck for the past few years I would think there should be no reason that you shouldn't qualify for unemployment as long as you meet all the required criteria. Although from personal experience it's all up to some jack a** who could give a s*** less if you drowned in the middle of lake superior next week, who gets to make the final decision while making 5 times your hourly wage. I worked as much as many hours as possible this past year, all year being home schooled as of last year, and you can damn well bet I plan to do everything I possibly can to draw unemployment.
