Well right now I am 13 years old and I am only on the 4th day of the first week but i can do it perfectly fine. It is hard but since I am younger its going to be a lot harder. Hopefully by the end of this I will be a really buff and healthy kid.
Anything above 14 is a good age to start, just don't try and be a big man and use really heavy weights, 'cause you'll just end up with a serious injury; go for lighter weights for more reps. I'm 16 and have done it three times in 2 years.
Anyone regardless of age can do P90x. P90x offers modifications to tailor the program to meet their individuals goals.
You do not have to use Power 90 to use P90x. However if you feel P90x is too much, then you should try Power 90 and then return to P90x.
I have personally finished both programs p90x and the Insanity. I truly loved both of them and will continue to implement both of them to my daily life. Now to answer your question... The p90x is much more suitable for a sixteen year old, the p90x offers three different levels to accomplish your goals. ie easy, medium and hard. The Insanity does not offer the variety that the p90x does. Good luck, and be ready to dedicate yourself, this workout is by no means easy. Jamie

P90X is the real deal. I started in 2007 & am currently in my 10th round (time) of doing it. I was 195, 6ft tall & after 90 days I was 173 at 39 yrs old. (I'm 45 now) I now work with Beachbody as a coach to help folks go thru AND FINISH P90X or other Beachbody programs. My biggest "P90X success story" is the 2012 Beachbody Challenge Grand Prize Winner, Richard Neal who lost 242lbs in 18 mos on P90X. so I can help you too. Yes, but it would be wise to do lifting on a different day as p90x or else you will over train your muscles. For example, MON-LIFT TUE-P90X WED-LIFT THU-P90X FRI-LIFT SAT-rest/P90X sun-rest/P90X. Remember, rest is just as important as the workout.
To order the p90x program, one has to directly call the p90x company or order from their website. This is because p90x attaches a "coach" to the customer who is responsible for selling the customer other products and making contact with them.
