ABS and emission controls run off separate computers. Check the speed sensors and wiring connectors first on the ABS. If you don't see anything obvious, you'll need to take it to someone with an ABS diagnostic code scanner, typically either a brake shop or the dealer. Those code scanners are not readily available to the general public yet. If you suspect that your O2 sensor is bad, connect to an OBD scanner and see what codes you get.
I have the check engine light on and the code is for map sensor on my 1999 1500 Chevy suburban
disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 seconds
Yes
When a O2 sensor goes bad your check engine light will go on and set a code.
crank sensor will cause car to no start cam sensor will only set check engine light kbutlrtech@yahoo.com
When my 2003 suburban did it. It turned out to be bearings. After replacing the bearings, no problems since. The bearing assembly has abs sensor attached.
you're better off replacing the knock sensor . it adjusts the timing automaticly by sencing any knocking sound & does the needed adjustment .
If the computer and the security system is not communicating correctly the security light will come on in a 1999 Chevy Suburban. Starting the car with a spare key may offer a quick fix.
It requires an engine scanner to do that.
most common cause is a failed wheel hub causing a worm abs sensor a new sensor should come with the new hub if that is the problem.
The engine coolant temp sensor can do that. If you have a check engine light on, have the codes read.
$325 on a 2005 suburban at my mechanics garage.
