can the car run without the supercharger
a supercharger is run by belt, turbocharger is run by ex. gases.supercharger is better ........actually it depends on the motor and what kind of turbo/supercharger you put on it,so neither is technically better than the other
Yes it will I had a tensioner pulley give out on mine that had to be replaced due to having an incorrect belt, and incorrect routing. I ran for over a week while I waited for the proper belt, and replacement pulley to get to me. The Supercharger does indeed make a difference in power, but if you have to run without it you'll be ok. I wouldn't bypass the supercharger on purpose because it may even decrease your gas mileage, but again the car will run without it if need be. 11/11/07 -After 10 years of ownership, and 30 minutes of running my GTP without the supercharger belt, I believe it will continue to run successfully at a greater level naturally aspirated. I will report the results as they come...
Yes, you just won't have any boost. Under normal driving your not using boost anyways. I know this because my mechanic had a gtp in his shop with an inoperable supercharger and the owner used the car until a replacement was found. 00gtp
An electric supercharger is essentially an electric motor run off a car's alternator driving a high speed fan which attempts to force more air into a car's air intake. The idea is the same as a turbocharger or supercharger, the more air and fuel forced into the combustion chamber the more power that will be developed by the engine. The only difference between a turbocharger or supercharger and the electric supercharger is that the electric supercharger is limited by how much power the car's battery and alternator can supply whereas a turbocharger and supercharger is limited by the amount of power the engine can supply which is significantly greater in comparison.
you can but you run the risk of screwin up everything in the car including internal components that aren't meant for the supercharger of an ls2 engine
you cant run out of "turbo" what a turbo does is it forces air and fuel inside the engine faster by spooling up from the flow of the exhaust the difference between it and a supercharger is that the supercharger is ran off the belt not the exhaust gases they produce "boost" (the amount of psi the turbo or supercharger is pushing out) turbo is the shortened name for turbocharger
you CAN remove it and replace it with a regular intake, however the car will run like sh!t. The supercharged engine has a lower compression ratio and withour boost it will not run well. If you want to get rid of the supercharger (why would you) you have to get rid of the entire engine....or to make things much simplier the whole car.
Yes, you can drive without the Supercharger belt for as long as necessary.
No a car cannot run without the alternator installed. All the components in a car have their specific function and any missing piece will cause the car not to run.
Supercharger
means the car has a supercharger
