I think that children can definitely lose total trust in adults after they have been abused. I also think that a child can lose trust in a few adults, or in every adult because of the relationship they had with the one adult.
The child may tell you something that you are obligated or need to tell someone, like if someone being abused. If you promise to keep the secret, you will break the child's trust, not only trust between you and the child, but it will teach the child not to trust others, too.
Sometimes experiences in childhood can cause abnormal behavior later in life. For example if a child was abused when they were young, they may be less likely to trust adults

It means you have to confront your fears, and man up and pimp slap them hoes. This kind of behavior is completely normal for someone that was abused as a child. When a person is abused during the time in which they are developing that can make a very large impact on how that person reacts to others being close to them and touching them in any way. In order to be comfortable with that person you need to trust them and understand that they are not going to hurt you, talking about your past abuse as a child with that person may help as well.
Talk to someone that you trust about it and get help.
Do you really trust the child-minder? If I were you, I'd do some deep extensive background checks into your child-minder. The child-minding business is easily abused by paedophiles and sex-traffickers. Hiring a nanny from a trusted company, preferably a government authority, is better than a child minder. Or even better still, have a member of your family look after the child. I really can't understand why a parent would leave their child for a month though. Sounds like a case of child neglect to me.
