Store bough terrariums have a thinner glass which may not withstand being filled with water. Also, if used to hold reptiles and such a good thorough cleaning is needed to remove urine and such. Do not use a soap as it will leave an oily residue which will transfer to the water. Best bet is a vinegar solution. Check to see water fill limit on terrarium.
At the zoo: Fish live in an aquarium (water tank). Lizards live in a terrarium (earth tank). Birds live in an aviary (big cage for birds).
Check and see if a system called "freecycle" has listings in your area. You will have to sign up. A fish tank will work, they are the same thing except the glass is a lot stronger so they can hold water.
Not unless it has been thoroughly scrubbed and sterilised !
A glass tank.
feed them in a glass tank
They may not know there is glass and it takes time for them to learn. If your tank glass is reflective they may think it's an enemy fish and try to attack. If that's the case, I suggest getting a clear glass tank before the fish hurts itself too much.
yes you can put a glass sheet over the top of a tank to act as a lid.
no it is impossible because the fish will definetely die
If you are considering buying a lizard i would recommend buying a terrarium instead of a fish tank, fish tanks often have gaps in so that you can feed the wires out, if you buy small lizards then they could get out through these gaps. Also, the roof on a fish tank will not have a place to fit a heat lamp which most lizards will need.
they see a reflection of themselves in the glass and think it is another fish
yes duct tape
One can purchase a glass fish tank from most department stores like Walmart. One could also obviously purchase them in a variety of sizes from local pet stores.
