No if the marriage is only for becoming legal. The person who marries an illegal to make them legal is breaking Federal Laws, can be arrested, and serve prison time. The illegal will be deported.

You must move to Mexico with your spouse and live there for two years with an immigrant visa, then you can apply for Mexican citizenship. You can have both a Mexican and a US passport and be a dual citizen. If you were not married to a Mexican citizen, you would have to live there for four years.

Yes, You have to go through a tough process but yes a Canadian can become a Citizen by marrying an American.

No, but it does give you the ability to complete the naturalization process.

Yes but the American citizen has to file a petition for the immigrant.

No, marrying a U.S. citizen does not automatically grant an immigrant permanent resident or citizenship status. http://www.uscis.gov

A lawful immigrant who has become a naturalized American Citizen can become a police officer, but not an immigrant/alien who has not become a US citizen.

Marrying a citizen is not enough to get citizenship. If the marriage was done to get citizenship and there was no love or committment, the marriage is illegal.

This must be a two part question. What would prevent them from marrying?

The child is automatically a U.S. citizen. I am a U.S. citizen and my husband is an illegal Mexican alien and we have two kids. Our children are U.S. citizens. As long as a chid is born in the U.S. they are citizens.

An illegal immigrant would not gain legal status by marrying a felon because of a felon is not recognized as a citizen of his or her country and it is the same with the illegal immigrant he or she is not recognized as a legal immigrant. If such a union exist then there would be severe penaltiies for both couple,a deportation and even more years in prison An illegal immigrant would not gain legal status by marrying a felon because of a felon is not recognized as a citizen of his or her country and it is the same with the illegal immigrant he or she is not recognized as a legal immigrant. father borm in san francisco but the mother is an mexican citizen and baby born in mexico is the baby an american citizen

IF YOU MARRY A MEXICAN, HE DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY BECOME AN AMERICAN CITIZEN. THE ONLY THING THAT MARRAIGE ESTABLISHES WHEN YOU MARRY A MEXICAN IS PERMANENT RESIDENT ALIEN STATUS FOR HIM. HE CAN ONLY KEEP THIS IF YOU REMAIN MARRIED FOR A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF YEARS. IF HE WISHES TO BECOME A CITIZEN, HE MUST TAKE THE TEST AND PASS. I married an illegal Mexican immigrant and I was told by an immigration officer that he can be deported until we have been approved for a visa number, but that some immigration officers will be lenient if the immigrant has papers with him showing that the process is underway.

Most foreigners can obtain a Mexican passport if they move to Mexico with an immigrant visa and live there for four years (2 years if married to a Mexican citizen). Then one can apply for Mexican citizenship and passport.

No, marriage to a US citizen does not mean the foreign national will be granted permanent residency or citizenship status.

An American citizen can marry an immigrant who already has a green card in the United States. The immigrant is placed in preference category 2A, and is placed on a waiting list.
