I don't know how the eggs are moved. A mallard has been sitting on 13 eggs in my garden for the last three days. She laid them over a period of 2 weeks. It snowed last night & this morning the nest was empty. There was no evidnece that the nest has been raided; no shells; nothing. We hope she moved them but we don't know how, it just happened over night.
There are many reasons why a female will do this, she could be a new mother and can be confused, or she senses something wrong with an egg or eggs. She also can be a lousy housekeeper and push them out by mistake while trying to keep up the nest.
They have no way to move eggs, but they can, and do, relocate ducklings.
No, a mother duck will not move her eggs from the nest.
I don't know about to other places, but in my experience, the mother tends to "order" them in the nest, sometimes in rows of 2 or 3.
Sorry it was supposed to say How big are ducks eggs (muscovy) before they hatch?
28 for common ducks and up to 35 days for Muscovy ducks.
Check under her. If the eggs are obviously rotten, throw them out. She will eat them if you don't! Gross, I know, but the smell is horrible if you let her crack them open. Click on the link below for a muscovy site!
It takes about three months for the Muscovy duck to fully mature. These ducks are known for their large size and odd markings.
A Campbell is a mallard derivative so yes it can cross with a muscovy. All wild mallards and domestic mallard derivatives can cross with any Muscovy Duck. However the offspring will be sterile (except extremely rare cases). Muscovy drake on mallard hen generates mullards which are fast-growing birds bred for meat. There are large industrial concerns that do this.

If they have been abandoned for 2 days I would think they are all ready gone.
