Not really. That might get the engine to turn over, if you do it right. But to actually get the vehicle running you need a few extra steps. And if it's a fairly modern car, it's probably fitted with an immobilizer. And bypassing that one isn't easy.

You can put just about anything in it. The main thing is to use all the engine management components for the new engine. The engine bay is quite large. a modern Hemi works well and a 4.7 from a Dakota is a nice transplant
