Absolutely! A post-op non-genetic MTF transexual woman will not "revert" back to being genetically a male if she stops taking female hormones. The need for taking the hormones is greatly reduced after either an orchidectomy (surgical removal of one or both testes) or an SRS (sexual reassignment surgery) as it testosterone is no longer produced by the body after the testes are removed.

That said, the removal of testosterone does not cause estrogen to be produced, and an SRS cannot create ovaries (yet) to produce estrogen. With the removal of the testes from someone that is biologically a male (and emotionally and every other way a female) that has been taking female hormones for years - going off of female hormones you have essentially the same situation of a postmenopausal biological woman.

Her body is no longer producing estrogen unless she is taking it artificially. And, a post-operative transexual woman might (and typically does) continue taking estrogen for the same reasons a biological genetic woman might choose to do so. To prevent a thickening of the skin, retard hair growth, etc.

How can get female breasts?

men who wants breasts can get them through surgery or by taking hormones. You have to see a doctor to take hormones though since the wrong dose and taking female hormones without doctors supervision is very dangerous and even deadly for a male.

How do transgender men physically change without surgery?

Male to female transgender people, while taking hormones will begin to physically change; in the ways of a rounder body, softer skin, slightly higher voice, and the start of the development of breasts. Their male sexual reproductive organs will cease to function as they once did, but their genitals will not change without the assistance of surgery. The same applies for female to male transgender people; hormone therapy plays a big part, but full changes will not take place without surgery. Outwardly people will begin to dress, act, and present themselves as the gender they feel they should be, even before surgery takes place.

Can a transgender woman reproduce?

It depends. The term "transgender female" is ambiguous. If you mean a transgendered person keeping their original parts, then they will be fertile as long as they are not taking hormones and have no medical or physical problems. If you mean an actual transsexual woman, then she will never be able to reproduce as a female, and after her genital correction surgery, she won't be able to father a child either. If she was born intersexed, that is a different matter, and she might be able to reproduce as a female if those parts are functional and intact.

Can transsexuals give off an offspring?

Male to Female transsexuals cannot give birth, however they can have sperm frozen (just like any other biological male) and have children (with a biological female) via insemination or IVF treatment. Female to Male transsexuals can (and do) get pregnant and give birth, as long as they haven't had any genital transgender surgery, and they reverse some of their hormonally induced changes - that means stopping Testosterone and taking female hormones to naturalise their body to that of a naturally fertile female.

Does taking female hormones affect the males penis?

A man taking female hormones is normally used by transsexuals. These hormones can help block testosterone and can result in the growth of breasts, raise the pitch of your voice and make your body shape look more feminine. The penis is not affected by this treatment, but you may find it harder to achieve erections, and you may gain higher amounts of abdominal fat.

Why does depression continue while taking Estrogen and Testosterone?

Because estrogen and testosterone are female and male hormones. If you are female and you are adding hormones to your body you will actually become more grumpy and irritated than usual, so I would not suggest that. And testosterone will not help anybody with mood elevation.

How does birth-control work?

Birth Control works by a female putting hormones into her body to prevent, extra estrogen entering the body that creates and releases matures eggs for what would have fertilized. This is done by taking a pill, using a patch, taking a shot, or implantation that releases the appropriate hormones into the body.
