In my opinion, NO! Men hold grudges against being held accountable for their actions. Just like us woman hold grudges against affairs! If your like me, it took finding an empty, tore up box of condoms to leave my abuser! I have had my hair pulled out (by the root), my chin kicked in (scare for life), spat on (full lungers), ran into with his car (on purpose) etc........ Even after all of that, I kept going back to him. It was not until I knew for a fact that he had been with another woman that made me leave for good! Guess what?! Even with proof in hand, he still tried to deny it! I got him to confess by telling him "I know your lying, I can see it in your eyes!" When I asked him why he lied to me, he said with tears in his eyes "Because I did not want to hurt you!" Can you believe that one? I have a five year restraining order against this person (or demon), and he still calls me! He has sent me SEX-TING (text), had his drunk friend leave messages (while I hear him laugh in the background time I accidently answered a call from him and he said "Yeah, I'm sorry, I meant to call my mother.....I'm not even suppose to be talking to you.......Yeah, I really wanna...." That is when I hung up! I think because of the restraining order he most likely wants to kill me! He has tried almost everything to get me back! I think he wants revenge because I finally rejected him. I truly believe that because I took a little legal action we CAN NOT save the relationship. And, that is why I did it! I am frightened by him, but I am more affied of me going back to him! Yes, I still love him and miss him very much! I know that is sick! But staying with him would have been even sicker! I am gathering evidence against him so when I call the police.....it won't just get a "slap on the wrist". Girls, take my advice.......If you have to press charges against a man or get a stay-away order, you need to be done with the relationship! Your mind is in the right place, it is your heart that is confused! And trust me, they don't change!

Can an abuser easily forget his ex girlfriend who broke up with him?

Once the abuser realizes he does not have control of her, eventually he will give up and move on. Sounds to me as if he needs to seek help. Stay away from him. Don't answer phone calls. If he keeps bothering you, press charges against him. But no, the abuser will not "easily forget" about the ex-girlfriend.

Why does a woman reconcile after three attempts to leave an abusive relationship?

Because the abuser makes the victim feel like they are and will be nothing without them. Its all about brainwashing, and making the victim fell dependant upon the abuser. No one should EVER stay in an abusive relationship, not even for the kids. That is the worst mistake someone could make. Abuser prey on the weak minded, however no one has to be weak minded, they ust have to learn how to survive on their own, and surviving on your own is possible.
