Answer 1:

They are allowed to offer that.

But you should be cautious in accepting it.

There are professions in which one pays for training first. Typically this is "college" or one of those "vocational schools".

Companies that need you to have two days - or even two weeks or a month - of On the Job Training will actually pay you. At least, all the reputable ones that I've ever heard of will.

Look, you should understand that if the program was that great, and the job that much a sure thing - well, why wouldn't they invest up front in you? Or have you let them deduct that "fee" from your first two week paycheck?

And if this is also some kind of "sales" or "marketing" thing...I'd be even more worried.

Check with the Better Business Bureau, check with the State's Attorney's office and see if there are any negative reports on this company. And easiest? Enter the company name in a Google search.

See what others have said who have dealt with them.

Answer 2:

I have been around long enough to have seen that the companies that do business this way are almost invariably sleaze merchants.

Can you explain a health reimbursement plan?

Health reimbursement plans are more commonly known as Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs). Many businesses use these plans as their sole employer-sponsored health coverage. A businesses might also use a Section 105 medical reimbursement plan as a supplement to traditional employer health insurance to reimburse deductibles, dental or vision. Section 105 of the IRS code allows small business owners to pay for medical expenses tax-free. With a Section 105 health reimbursement plan, an employer can reimburse an employee for medical and insurance expenses. These can be expenses incurred by the employee or his or her dependents, but they must be allowed under the plan document, which is created by the employer and outlines the expenses eligible for reimbursement.
