There are 4 bolts holding the seat down (same on all 106s) situated at the front and rear of the slide rails. These require a Torx T40 driver.
Be sure to unplug the Seatbelt tensioner lead before lifting the seat up and don't drop the seat onto a hard surface or hit the seat belt buckle assembly with any object as the tensioner system (located in the seat belt buckle) has a small explosive charge in it.

Remove the 10mm bolt from behing the rear seat. Then pull the rear seat it hooks to the front seat in the front. Remove the bracket there and pull the front.
Use your key on the left side by the seat. turn it counterclockwise. and the front seat should pull off. Once you remove the front seat there are two releases to remove the rear seat.

You need to remove the rear seat before you can removed the front. First removed the one screw on the back of the rear seat then removed the two screws on the front of the rear seat. You can not get to the front screws until you remove the rear screw.
1) Remove the back seat (pillion seat) 2) Then remove the screw that holds the front seat ( its in the middle), with a philips screwdriver/ allen key 3) lift out the front seat and locate the battery
First disconnect the connectors under the seat. Remove the 3 bolts (Front Left, Front Right, Rear Right). Remove the nut from the Left Rear. Lift seat up and out.
There are bolts that you must remove in order to take out the front seats of a 2002 Monte Carlo. There are two in the back of the seat and two in the front of the seat. If you have heated seats you will also have to remove the wires for that before you take the seat out.
