These worms can easily be transmitted to humans who contact infected fecal matter with their hands and then inadequately wash (or do not wash at all) their hands, followed by touching eyes, nose or mouth.
Children are more suseptible than adults but...
Tapeworm: Contagious to humans: When you kiss the pets and accidentally swallow a flea. - Note: I kiss my pets ont he head all the time - I just dont kiss/suck up fleas :)
Hookworm: Contagiousto humans: Burrow into skin. Walking barefoot or sunbaking on infected ground. - Note: I walk barefoot a lot too, never had a problem.
Roundworm: Contagiousto humans: Only when physically eating worm eggs. Note - Never eaten the eggs and had many cats AND dogs since birth.
Whipworms: Contagious to humans: Needs to be ingested. Only in very poor sanitary conditions. Note - again, I have never received worms from cats or dogs.
All other worms are not contageious. I am 25 and have owned MANY cats and dogs mainly strays - never once contracted worms from my pets. So long as you deworm and deflea your cat as often as needed - then you shouldnt have too much problem with any worm. And remember to wash your hands if you have been playing in dirt/mud, near the litter tray or known place your cat uses for litter :)
A cat with worms can infect a cat that doesn't have worms, so it's best to give both cats (after discussing it with your vet) the worm capsules.
Yes the cat may give the human worms
Many parasites, such as various types of worms, are highly opportunistic, meaning they will infect any warm body they can get into. I have never heard of "wolf worms," so cannot tell you for certain if, like tapeworms and roundworms, these can also infect people.
Bartonella henselae can infect people who are scratched or (more rarely) bitten or licked by a cat.
If you cat has worms, then they have more than one worm. There is not set amount of worms that animals get when they have them.
Zero gravity cannot give anyone worms nor infect live worms in any way.
Virus and worms.
Thread worms are small thin white thread like worms beetween 2 and 13 mm long. They infect human GUTS.
If your cat has worms you need to take he or she to the veterinarian and the cat will either be given a shot or pills or even both.
It is the Aschelminthes Phylum
If a cat's belly is hard and round, it probably has some type of worms.
Yes they can. Worms are transmitted through fecal matter and if you cat is an outdoor cat, they can still come into contact of contaminated feces. If you think your cat has worms, take it to the vet with a fecal sample and they can test it to see if there are any worms.
