No, but of course a completely nutritional diet is needed to lay properly. Feed them a LAYER feed and you can supplement it with small amounts of goodies they like. Too many goodies may mean they don't eat enough of the balanced nutritional food they need for laying (especially the needed calcium). Their laying is mostly tied to: 1. breed (some just lay more than others; 2. nutritional needs being met 3. healthy living conditions 4. amount of light.
