Medically-supervised detox carried out by trained people is nearly 100% safe. Non-medical detox can cause seizures and blood pressure spikes that can be -- and sometimes are -- fatal. In any case, it is extremely uncomfortable, and there is no reason for anyone to have to face it.

Depends what you are detoxing from. You cannot die from Opiate withdrawals although you will probably wish you were dead. Alcohol withdrawal causes the most deaths.

Detox is extremely hard and sometimes you're body will not cope with it. Before doing detox i recommend to eat less then normal for the two weeks before starting the diet.
