yes they can but not all dogs will.it depends on breed and temperment. ive had a ton of pets including hampsters and i kept all of my pets in my room and kept the door closed and eventuallyigot a baby gate to put in front of my door. -hopei helped
I'm not sure that "friends" is an appropriate word to use for the interaction between a dog and a hamster, but putting that aside ... it's not likely. Some kinds of dogs were bred specifically for hunting and killing animals much like hamsters.
If the dog gets use to the hamster, yes. But if it wants to eat it, you have to train the dog and help the dog get use to the hamster.
