A lot of women have used castor oil to induce labor (including me). What it does is cause your bowels to cramp witch in turn can irritate the uterus and cause contractions that may or may not lead to labor. Some people say that taking castor oil can cause the baby to have a bowl movement witch is harmful to baby, but the oil it self does not cross over to the placenta and lots of women have had success from using it. So it is totally your choice way your options, and remember to walk walk walk! and if at all possible have sex it is the best way to induce labor at home!
Castor oil does not give you contractions directly, it gives you diarrhea. Those cramps are believed to sometimes bring on labor but usually it's just you sitting on the toilet with the runs. So stay away from the oil. 36 weeks you are not even fullterm yet and the baby can have problems.
it won do anything to u while ur 9 weeks u take it when ur nearly 40 weeks to help u gie birth quicker
It will make you have to poop. You may also throw up other than that nothing.
Castor oil is a laxative not used to induct labor. As the labor progresses and contraction becomes strong cervical dilatation will increase.
no tattooing has no harmful effects on babies
No it will not induce you if you are not dilated first. I tried it at 36 weeks and nothing happened, not even the runs. ("Thank god) I am 37 weeks on Tuesday and am now dilated 1 and 50% effaced. So I just took 2 tablespoons of the castor oil. It has only been a hour but so far nothing has happened. I am crossing my fingers though.
2-3 weeks
Most women have no clue they are pregnant the first weeks so don't worry, you'll be fine and so will the baby.
You can cause yourself to go into preterm labor is you take Castor Oil before you are 30 weeks pregnant. It is suggested that you do not drink this while you are pregnant.
It is very unlikley (near on impossible) you will go into labour at 28 weeks, Castor oil stimulates the bowel and causes dihorreah which in late stages of pregnancy can trigger off contractions, At 28 weeks your baby isn't developed fully and will need intensive pediatric care to survive, there are also a percentage of babies that will not survive at 28 weeks as they are just not strong enough to fight off and infections they may attract . It is not wise to take castor oil at all during pregnancy, if you are struggling to go to the toilet and want to take it for that reason, try drinking lots of fruit juice and lots of fibre rich foods , that should help x
Of course you can - so long as you're not planning on drinking the dye !
if you have been smoking/drinking then this is a sign that it will be premature
Castor oil is not a recommended dietary supplement for pregnant mothers, since it can induce vomiting and diarrhea. You could wait until your baby is as fully formed as s/he can be in the womb, and wait for your body to listen to the baby's signal that it's time to be born. Natural labour will follow. Human gestation is normal between 37 and 42 weeks.
Not likely, but it can cause fetal alcohol syndrome.
I don't see how it could be safe to take castor oil, isn't it a laxative? It could cause cramps, and induce labor..you should talk to you obgyn before taking anything.
