Assuming you mean drinking Alcoholic Beverages, that would not help you avoid getting the virus, but it would not "attract" the virus to you, either. An occasional drink would not put your body into an unhealthy state that could make you more susceptible, but daily drinking or Alcoholism or chronic binges or frequent and heavy drinking can have a negative impact on various body systems and that could leave you much more vulnerable. For your immune system to properly protect you from invading "germs", like viruses, it needs to be in top condition.

That means you must drink plenty of water or other non-alcoholic non-carbonated drinks [8 - 8 oz. glasses (or 8 - 240 ml glasses) per day]. Follow your mother's advice and eat your 5 servings of vegetables and 5 servings of fruits with a well balanced diet each day, exercise regularly and get plenty of rest (8 hours per night if at all possible).

In addition there are other consequences of drinking alcohol. If you are drinking, you will likely be less careful and responsible about preventing the spread of the flu to others and less diligent in protecting yourself with proper hygiene and frequent hand washing. If you want an occasional drink, plan to stay home where you will not pick up or spread the virus in your less than attentive state.
