An enhanced drivers license (EDL) is not the equivalent of a passport and was designed solely to ease frequent travel by land or sea (but NOT air travel) between the United States, Canada, Mexico and some Caribbean nations.

Because of international treaties on air travel, all passengers (as well as crew) on international flightsmust possess a complete passport.

Can a birth certificate be used for a cruise to the Caribbean?

No. You can use a passport, US passport card, "enhanced" drivers license or "enhanced" non-drivers ID.No. For travel between countries in North America you must use either a passport (booklet mandatory for international air travel), a US passport card, or an enhanced state drivers license or non-drivers ID. A birth certificate is not sufficient.

You would like to enter as a visitor to Bermuda which document you should bring with you international driver license certified birth certificate or US driver license?

Birth certificates are not valid for international travel. "International drivers licenses" are vanity documents with no legal standing and cannot be used to cross international borders. An "enhanced" US drivers license will get you into Bermuda by sea, but most US states do not offer enhanced drivers licenses. If traveling to Bermuda by air, the only valid document is a passport.

What licenses can be used in all states?

drivers licenses

Can you fly to Mexico with a Washington state enhanced drivers license?

No. An enhanced drivers license ("EDL") is equivalent to a U.S. Passport CARD, not a booklet. An EDL can be used for travel by land or sea between the United States and Canada, Mexico or the Caribbean. Because of international treaties on air travel, all passengers and crew on international flights must possess a passport booklet.

Are drivers licenses used to pick jurors?

In some states, yes.

Can you travel with an enhanced license to Aruba?

No, you can't travel with an enhanced license to Aruba. Passports are required for all U.S. citizens to enter and exit Aruba by international air travel. Passports or passport cards are required to enter and exit Aruba by sea.Specifically, enhanced driver's licenses don't meet International Civil Aviation Organization [ICAO] document standards. For example, they may be used to cross Canadian and Mexican borders by road, rail, or sea. But that's not the case by air.

Can you just show your US military ID to go to Canada?

No. As of June, 2009, in order to cross the borders into Canada by land or by sea, you must be able to show a valid U.S. Passport, an Enhanced Drivers License or ID card (EDL/ EID), or a Nexus Card. If you are going via airplane, you must have a valid U.S. passport. A military ID does not serve as a U.S. Passport. It is a normal ID card used to give access to on base features for military personel and military families. If there is a situation where the military demands you to leave U.S. Land, they will issue you a military passport.

Who is allowed to cross the us border?

What is the font used on California Drivers Licenses?

Its a custom font. Try googling Noblecat or the Jerm fonts. They are duplicates of that font.

Does a permanent resident have to apply for a visa when traveling outside the US?

you do not need to carry a passport as a permanent resident alien when traveling in the us, IF you have a state id, or drivers license. i have done it before, and never been asked about my passport. even when i gave up my green card, i still had a valid drivers license , which i used to at the airport.

Do i need a passport to go to shetland?

Can a Mexican without a Passport fly to Mexico with just a birth certificate or a Mexican drivers lic?

I believe that all you need to go to Mexico is your driver's license (that's all we've used to drive there)...if you are a US born American citizen. However, if you are not a US born American citizen...you'll require further documentation. I do not suggest taking your original birth certificate with you when you travel. A passport is a better option and easier to replace if lost or stolen. Starting 2006 you will need to have a valid passport to travel between Mexico and the USA As of now, you need a passport, and a drivers license to go thru the airport customs. According to the U.S. governments travel website and the department of homeland security, a passport is required to re-enter the USA by air. Land travel requires proof of identity and citizenship until June 1,2009 at which time a passport will be necessary. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Technically the above is correct BUT you willl have extreme difficulty boarding ANY International flight without having a passport as ID at check-in. After June 2009 the airlines have become really hard nosed about this. An " enhanced " drivers liscense is NOT a passport and will not be accepted at the airport .... those things are only for "driving " to Mexico or Canada BUT be warned, althought Mexico will maybe allow you in without a passort ( how much are you willing to pay as a bribe ? ) the U.S. Immigration will NOT allow you back into the U.S. without a passport Money buys anything in Mexico
