Well, it CAN- and it will kill some of the germs- but your hands will still be dirty.
yes
washing your hands of course is the most affective way of killing germs. but hand sanitizer is best when you don't have access to running water or soap. Hand sanitizer kills more germs but drys your hands out with overuse. After the years go by you will find your hands getting itchy all the time. It is best to only use hand sanitizer when touching things as elevator buttons, public door handles & washrooms... etc.
The CDC reports that soap and water does a better job at removing germs, but a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol makes sense to use if soap and water are not available. If your hands are visibly dirty or greasy,
studies have shown hand sanitizer DOES NOT replace hand washing and in some cases may cause cancer.
the cat could be sipping the water or washing its hands
get soap and water then wash in your hands.
Not really. Obviously, sanitizer is better than nothing, but washing your hands is preferable in a variety of circumstances. There are certain kinds of germs that sanitizers aren’t great at getting rid of, and many people don’t use them properly (not using enough or wiping it off prematurely, for example). Hand washing is also a better option when your hands are visibly greasy or dirty, and it’s much better at getting rid of harmful chemicals like pesticides. However, hand washing isn’t always convenient, and there are so many cute and good-smelling hand sanitizers in the world, it would be a shame to forsake them entirely. If you use hand sanitizers, you want one with at least 60 percent alcohol for maximum effectiveness.
after applying water to your hands
Not necessarily, but it is best to wash your hands with water and often soap before and after touching your hamster. Hamsters can carry bacteria and can get sick like people, so washing your hands is important.
soap and water. sometimes isopropyl alcohol hand sanitizer
Usually, you just wash your hands with soap and water. But if these are not available, I use alcohol or hand sanitizer.
It is most definitely 'germier' to Not wash your hands versus washing them. Our hands touch many, many things that can make us and others sick. Always wash your hands as often as you get the chance, preferably with soap and warm water. If you are in a circumstance where the only public restroom is very dirty, sometimes it may not make your hands cleaner to wash them in there unless you touch nothing after washing and drying your hands, even the faucet to turn the water off or the door knob on the way out (use a paper towel to turn off the faucet and to open the door). Carry hand sanitizer with you and even after washing your hands in the restroom and doing what you can to protect your clean hands from new contamination, use the sanitizer once you leave the dirty area and before you touch yourself, others, or objects.
