Of course! One guy in Kiev (Ukraine) had his backbone fractured in many places when he was young, and he was only able to move his eyes and mouth. The doctors unanimously declared that such cases are incurable, and gave him a lifetime disability. The guy did not want to trust doctors. He started reading books on yoga, was doing various raja yoga practices, pranayamas, moved the pranas in the channels (synchronized with the breath), and did the urinotherapy (that's the main thing from Hatha Yoga that he could do!) - he drank urine. Ah, he changed his diet. In less than a year he was COMPLETELY cured. He became one of the most famous healers in Kiev. I last talked to him 17 years ago. He was very proud to show me his picture in a British magazine where he is shown climbing the Pamir Mountains. This man got a new hobby that shocked the people around: at weekends in a public park he started teaching children how to walk on fire. He mastered many other things. Another example. A few years ago Olexiy Kudryatsev, my Aikido instructor, the president of the Aikido Federation of Ukraine (see http://Europe.aikido.free.fr/Ukraine.htm), was knocked down by a car in Moscow. The doctors said that Alex would never be able to walk again. I do not know what Alex did in the hospital, but within a couple of weeks he escaped from the hospital and was back in Kiev. Within a month he was conducting the Aikido training sessions, and within 4 months he was in almost perfect shape again. Control your prana and you will control your body.

Note: Before starting any physical exercise program, especially in the case of any injuries or bodily changes, please check with your doctor be sure you are healthy enough for that type of activity.
