Can rapidly screaming at the computer decrease loading time?

• Based on results from continuously pressing the elevator call button to make the elevator come to your floor faster, this very well may work. Temper tantrums are very effective when used in moderation.

I laughed out loud at this question. (Most of the time, I cry.) Clearly, it sounds as if the question writer is trying to prove a point to a friend or family member, who may be frustrated by his sluggish computer and acting out a bit.

• It has been my observation that furious mouse clicking and cursing and yelling rarely make me feel better and never make the web page load any faster.

• Yes and no. Yelling and screaming etc. at the computer gives the illusion that the computer is speeding up, because it is scared of you. But seriously, why would a machine that could spend all of your life savings on illegal drugs and then turn you into the police, be afraid of you?

• Not really. Shouting at the computer is good way to pass the time, But the system loading can sometimes speed up and down which sometimes makes it seem quicker (It can also start mood swings.)

• I would argue that getting angry, clicking away and shouting at a PC makes it take longer to load, from your perspective.

When you get angry and start flailing like a monkey, you increase your heart rate and various hormones in your body, these effects change your perspective of time, that is why a bus your really really need to catch and worrying about seems to take forever to arrive, yet when you are lackadaisical about your means of travel, it seems to arrive quite quick (even if both times it was just 5 minutes away).

(Another example is when people get into a high stress situation and describe it as 'time slowing down'.)

• The computer will load at the time it takes to load, the computer does not change its perspective of time based on crazy goings on inside (except when the BIOS battery or PSU is dying), you however will see your perspective of a second/minute take longer and longer to pass and increase your frustration and making time seem even slower, leading into a downward spiral. Sit back, relax, and it will seem to load faster.

• Are you kidding me?! Of course it can! See, yelling and clicking at your computer will decrease the time because you will be occupied. If you just sit there like an old hag, you will have no sort of amusement. Yelling and clicking away at your computer will distract you from how long it is actually taking.

p.s. you should have a fast computer, that means you shouldn't need to aggressively click buttons. even though it is really fun

• if you start clicking buttons randomly, it slows down because it's trying to load more times, that's why several windows always open after your tantrum
