I think that would be abnormal. If you miss two periods because you are irregular, when it returns it should still be 3-7 days, although it may be heavier. When I got the Birth Control shot, it did last a very long time or came several times a month as I adjusted to the hormones. But that is the only instance that I can think of where that would be ok. If that were to occur under any other circumstances, I would recommend seeing a doctor.
