you need to have it cleared with an OBD2 scanner. Most national chain auto parts stores have this service for free. (autozone, parts america, advance auto parts)
Chain auto store are not allowed to legally clear the codes. They can usually be cleared by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes or so. Keep in mind that when you reattach you computer will have a readiness code until it completes its cycle. So any code you had previous, if not fixed, will return. You cannot pass any emissions test with a readiness code.
Probably because you need to check the engine.
The check engine light on a 94 Buick Olds Cutlass is read using an OBDII code reader. It is connected to the port under the dash which interfaced directly with the reader.
There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.
I've had problems with the Intake Manafold and also with the spark plug towers burning out setting off the check engine light. I know there are more but this is just my personal experience with my 1999 cutlass.
Yes
Could be the catalytic converter.
Disconnect the battery, wait 10 minutes, and reconnect.
i would say because it is not getting spark but i have a 77 cutlass with the same problem so check it for spark
Check your engine light and if that doesn't work go to your dealer.
You can either bring it in to a Chevy dealer or use a programmer/tuner to reset the check engine light.
dealer must clear
It means that you need to get the cars computer scanned to find out what the problem is.
