No-it has nothing to do with it-
Yes, if the computer is not getting a signal from the crank sensor it will not activated the fuel pump.
How you figure this-Please explain-The crankshaft position sensor jobs is to identify the position of the piston so that it will tell the computer to fire the coil/s. The Camshaft sensor synchronizes the fuel injector. The fuel pump relay/circuit opening relay and oil pressure/inertia switch are used to control the fuel pump-
On a Chrysler vehicle there is no oil pressure or inertia switch. If the PCM does not have a valid crank sensor reading it shuts down the ASD relay, which powers the entire fuel system.
I Didn't know, I was dealing with a Chrysler product here or a Dodge/Plymouth-Yes I'm aware of what the Auto Shutdown Relay does with the ignition coils/fuel injectors on these vehicles-On some of these vehicles the ASD relay powers the fuel pump relay to activate the fuel pump as far as I know-Anyway I'm not a Chrysler expert thanks for sharing the knowledge of the CPS
The crankshaft position sensor has nothing to do with the fuel pump but a defective fuel pump relay and fuel pump fuse will and also a missing ground circuit will cause it not to run
Loss of fuel (fuel pump) loss of ignition ( crankshaft or camshaft sensor or wiring)
There are a few reasons. crankshaft position sensor, faulty fuel pump, fuel pump regulator, throttle position sensor, oxygen sensor. Need to have it diagnosed.
the crankshaft pos sensor controls the relay switches which operate the fuel pump and the electricity supply to the coil causing no spark to reach the distributor YES
Well, it could be a number of things ranging from your distibutor cap, coil, or or rotor, to your crankshaft sensor or fuel pump. The crankshaft sensor would be my guess for that model and year. chiefy98clg at yahoo dot com
No.
A poor electrical connection, either to the pump or in the fuel level sensor in the pump assembly is the most likely cause.
Pulse signals from what? speed sensor abs wheel sensor fuel pump pressure sensor crankshaft sensor camshaft sensor knock sensor
yes If the ecm does not see rpm from senor it will not turn fuel pump on,you will only hear pump cycle during key on before crank ,but no fuel pump heard after crank tech14444
where is the crankshaft position sensor located on 1998 park ave
The fuel pump pressure sensor monitors the fuel pressure of the vehicle.
Still need help? It will be either the Fuel Pump Relay, Fuel Filter, Fuel strainer, Fuel Pressure Regulator, Fuel Pump, or Crankshaft Sensor. You can tell what it is depending on what is happeninig when you try to start the car. Explain what is happening.
