Can the press plate to the clutch be adjusted on a 96 Nissan 240 SX with 99000 mile if it is kind of difficult to press down?

there is a 4 foot line that should be there that makes the cluch less responcive but easyer to push down a common upgrade is to remove this check if you have the line it is on the passanger side of the transmission it goes out 2 feet and comes back right next to its self either end is connected to a little box along with the line to the tranny and the pedel
