Yes it can as well as the infection you are fighting off. Puts our whole bodies PH level out. Most women hate to be on antibiotics because this usually can lead to yeast infections or just plain not feeling well. Some women experience a lack of appetite and can get a little cramping. If you were fine before taking the antibiotics, then it's probably the culprit. If you were not feeling well before antibiotics then it's some sort of infection you are fighting off. Give it time, it will all come full circle.

Antibiotics do not change the effectiveness of Hormone Replacement Therapy. If you are worried about it, you should ask your doctor when he/she prescribes the medicine.

It took 3 months for my cycles to become regular after starting on Ortho Evra. 4 months later, I was given the antibiotic doxycycline. I had some sort of bad reaction to it and didn't complete the course, but for 3 months, I'm back to the irregular cycles. I'm hoping this month it will be back to normal... BUT I was bitten by a bug 4 days ago and it's red, swollen and hot to the touch... I'm so mad that I'm going to have to probably get another antibiotic and deal with this all over again.

Does amoxicillin Cause Thrush?

Yes!! Every course of antibiotics I have taken, most notably Amoxycillin has caused me to have unbearable thrush. Try to avoid anticiotics where possible as continuous use of them reduces there effectiveness but, if an absolute necessity, speak with the doctor about your worries of developing thrush as it is quite common. Antibiotics change the PH etc of the body which is the cause.

If you are taking antibotic and the depo does the depo still work?

Yes. The depo is not like oral contraceptives, and it is VERY unlikely that antibiotics will change the effectiveness of it, but it would probably be a good idea to use condoms for a couple of weeks while you're taking them just to be on the safe side.

Can antibiotics interfere with the pill?

Yes, antibiotics decrease the effects of the pill and you may potentially become pregnant. Alternative forms of contraception should be used while taking antibiotics. My physicians have always told me to continue alternative contraception for at least 2 weeks after you have finished the antibiotics so that the pill has ample time to become fully effective again.
