The answer is yes, especially if you have undergone uterine artery embolism procedure. Necrombiosis is a term that describes what happens to the uterine fibroid. All of the blood supply to the fibroid has been cut off by this procedure and then it starts to die and that's when the body expels it with contractions and all.

Although I am not a doctor I have researched a lot because of my own history with fibroids....If anyone could describe better or knows more about the insidious details of this mysterious expulsion that we know so little of...please describe in detail how all this happens!

I've been through red cell degeneration with my uterine fibroids and did not expel the fibroids, but I did have contractions!

fibroids tend to grow over time, and gradually cause more symptoms. Many women ultimately decide to have some form of treatment. Currently, hysterectomy is the most popular form of treatment.
