Yes
Yes, water can cause a misfire, which will cause the check engine light to flash.
Water can get in and cause a misfire.Water can get in and cause a misfire.
A little water may show up as a random missfire (P0300). A lot of water and the engine wouldn't run at all.
Could be, spark plug(s), contaminated fuel (water),
water could cause a service engine light to come on, for example, ignition systems are sensitive to moisture and could cause a misfire and turn the light on. You need to find out what code the computer has set. Some auto parts stores have scan tools to loan.
the way a rx7 engine misfire can be cause by having bad spark plugs or either wires. The timing is incorrect and needs to be adjust. it can be adjusted by using a timing light. another factor that can cause misfire is having your throttle position sensor(TPS) out of wack. it is located right on top of the water pump housing. there is a write up on fixing this on http://fc3spro.com/main.html
Getting electrical ignition parts wet will cause a misfire that will continue until the water is dried out or evaporates.
can low grade gas cause a misfire, I don't think so but, Contaminated (water, etc) gasoline could. Flow restriction (plugged fuel filter, plugged fuel injector) could. Incorrect fuel pressure could.
no oil in engine or water in radiator will cause engine to seriously o/heat! and eventually seize! major engine damage!!
Driving through flood water would cause the ignition to fail and stall the engine.
If you have driven through water and the check engine light in your vehicle comes on, you should take your car to your mechanic. You will want to have your vehicle checked for any damage caused by the water. Probably will find that the ignition (plugs, wires, etc) got wet and triggered a misfire code (P0300). Allow the system to dry thoroughly and when the system detects there is no misfire after a few drive cycles the check engine light will go out.
What causes a misfire can be a number of things. But from what you are telling me, you may have water in your oil and maybe some bad gas inside your engine. If you have pumped in some bad gas, you may have a filed out the sparkplug at that #8 cylinder.
