Yes, you can but know you are changing the weight of the oil. Use only what the manufacture recommends.
Yes, no problem.
for winter use 5w30 for summer stay with either 5w30 or 10w30 for high-mileage id use a 10w30 high mileage oil DONT ADD TREATMENT ITS ALL HYPE!!!!!!!! for preformance id go either with syntec oil 5w30 or royal purple oil
Yes, but keep in mind that 5w30 thins out at higher temperatures vs. 10w30. i.e. 5w30 is better for cooler climates than 10w30 respectively. Theoretically you could see a mpg increase with the thinner oil comparatively, just don't sacrifice proper lubrication to save a few bucks. In my '95 2.5l it never lost any oil when I ran 10w30. When I tried 5w30 it did go through some. I have a 99k engine. the oil wasn't being burnt, so I wasn't losing it quickly, I just needed to top it off after a few months. I probably had to add 1/2 quart.
0w40 if below 0 degrees and 5w30 for all temp. mobile one DOES NOT HAVE TO BE MOBILE ONE BRAND, AS LONG AS IT IS "FULLY SYNTHETIC" CASTROL, PENNZOIL, ETC
it wouldn't hurt to mix the oils, I mixed 5w30 and 10w30 in my 1986 Lincoln town car because 5w30 bled right through, seeing as it leaked from everywhere, I probably went through a liter a week. Straight 10w30 leaked maybe a liter a month, but caused the engine to run much rougher. After mixing the two, I went through a liter every 2-2.5 weeks and the engine ran fine
Mobil 1 synthetic oil They recommend 5w30 but if you have higher miles I'd go with the 10w30 or 10w40. It's thicker which adds protection. Thicker does not add more protection. Use exactly what Mercedes recommends and nothing else.
Add 4.5 quarts 10w30, start engine, check and adjust level.
5 on an oil change w/ filter
Get some Quaker Oats, boil water, add water to the oats, add fruit, sugar to the oats and you have hot cereal. If the oats are took thick add more water until you get it just right.
In winter, cold climate, I use 5w30. In the summer i use 10w30. Before I change the oil I add a small container of engine flush, follow directions, and this removes any sludge from inside. Does a good job. All this as long as you follow regular oil and filter changes, say 5,000 kms ( 3,000 miles ) up to 350,000 kms ( 220,000 miles )now.
Nothing if they were approved oils. You can mix 10w30 with 5w20 etc. Not a good idea but you can do it. You can mix brands with no problem.
Engine oil I use is 3qt Castrol GTX turbo 10/30 & 1qt Mobil1 synthetic 5/30 add 4th qt of the Castrol to get to middle of dipstick above the add a qt line in the xxxx operating level. Of course, change filter. I use a Fram 3600 on a 1991 Escort LX w/5speed same as 1998 Sable 3.0L w/ automatic. Have 257, 000 mi on Escort and 144,000 on the Sable using same type oil and filter.
