2001 Toyota tacoma bank 1 means that it is located before the cadalic converter.
Before it breaks
The airbag will most likely not deploy on a 1996 Toyota Tacoma is the front fender is removed. The airbag sensor is designed to detected a combination of speed and impact before deploying.
i used to have one of these however I upgraded but before doing so I did have to replace the clutch as my lil bro wore mine out I tried a clutch from a rotary Honda that didnt even fit in however I got in touch with Toyota and they sent me a clutch from a 1998 Toyota tacoma 4x4 it worked until it broke and I needed a new one
I would recommend you change it every 50,000 miles. What does your owner's manual list?
I just got spark plugs from a local napa store and the gentlemen told me to gap the plugs before installing. .032
the gearbox oil need to be warmed up a litle, before the od is going to be functional;) Toyota mechanic, Norway
yes it is. notice that when u engage the overdrive before 60km/h, almost nothing happens but at 60km/h, the rpm drops as the vehicle attains bigger momentum.
NO... I believe the biggest tire that will fit is a 31. Check with others before you buy.
It is a sealed transmission, which means no dipstick. It is cheaper for the automakers to do this. Most people will trade their vehicles in before the transmission needs any fluid changes anyways.
No he used to use the overdrive. Before the R.K.O it was the Overdrive and the Complete Shot
If you want to adjust valves you will have to replace adjusting shims. It's about $8 per piece. Before buying anything you need to measure current gap, then measure the height of the shims and then calculate which new height to need. Then go and buy it.
If the computer diagnostics say it's the O2 sensor, that's what's wrong. If you haven't connected a code scanner try that before you go any further.
Sell you Toyota -
My 1997 Toyota Tacoma 2.4 L transmission would not shift to overdrive after a fluid/filter change. A obd 2 scanner revealed no codes. I field tested all relays. 1 of my 3 master mechanics ( I mean masters) had the answer. Since I use the web so much for complicated problems I felt compelled to contribute. This particular problem resulted from 2 cooling tubes that have to be pulled from the to connected inlet/ outlet holes. The are held by compression and cover the transmission filter housing and must be removed than reinserted. I dropped the pan and used a soft rubber hammer and much care to seat the tubes properly. Air instead of fluid is introduced to the system if not properly seated. And the tube should also be cleared of debris before replacing. It sure was nice to get overdrive back. Thanks for all the post that have helped me in the past. Cypress 812
The MAF sensor is located right before your breather box is for your intake air filter. Its a little square box with wires and a harness going to it. You'll see 2 screws holding it in place.
Before You leave Besaid find the Dog and talk to it, it should give you a ball of sorts, then you get the overdrive.
Because it is safer to adjust them whilst cold.
I just put Denso Iridium spark plugs in mine (part #IK16): http://www.densoiridium.com/index.php But these are by no means the only kind of spark plugs you can use. Before these I had SplitFire Platinum.
Overdrive is the normally allowed position , but unless you are going fast enough it will not shift into overdrive because it acts as the " top " gear ( on my Explorer I have to be going 50 miles per hour / 80 kilometers per hour before it shifts into overdrive )
Make sure the window lock button is not ON. Simple, I know. But I dissected the passenger door before I figured this out.
The Tacoma Narrows Bridge was 5938 feet long before it collapsed.
The overdrive is before the drive because as you ordinarly drive down the road your car automaticaly goes into overdive when you reach a certain speed. You use drive only when you are pulling a trailer or going up a large hill so it won't go into overdrive and put undo work on the transmission or motor. It is also a gas saving factor.
well i dont know about the 4 cylinders, but in the 3.4, the light is supposed to come on when there is 2 gallons of gas left. so depending on your MPG, it could be 30-40 miles, maybe more.
