No, they do not. It is an urban legend based on the fact that seagulls cannot release gases, thus their stomachs will explode. However, this is false as they regurgitate to feed their young.

I have a aunt and uncle who were in the marines and sea gull infestation was a problem. People on the ship would sometimes used alka seltzer to horde them off. It does in fact make them explode from in inside out. Please don't try it, its a very painful death.

The above about exploding seagulls is false. Here's a quick physics lesson to help illustrate the point.
Even if a seagull ate 5 Alka-Seltzers, most likely they'd regurgitate it since it doesn't taste good; but let's assume you wrapped a piece of bread around it, got the gull to eat it, their digestive system is similar to ours in that, they have an OPENING at the mouth, and an OPENING at the end/rear; neither of these OPENINGS are sealed, corked or in any way able to self-contain pressure built up inside the stomach.
The gull would simply burp/regurgitate the tablets or expel (fart) out the gas produced. It is impossible to blow up a gull (or any other animal) using Alka-Seltzer, it's an urban legend, 100%, go to Snopes.com and see.

A friend of mine who lives in Corpus Christi tried to feed Alka-Seltzer to seagulls a few years ago (in the name of science.) My friend reported that the gulls did not want to eat the plain tablets (I would think that, to a bird, they look like flat little rocks,) so my friend wrapped the Alka-Seltzer in Wonder Bread and glommed the bread down tightly around the tabs. The gulls grabbed the bread-wrapped tablets, gulped them down, and a moment later, barfed them up again. No explosions, unless vomiting counts as an explosion. Considering how easy it is to concoct a Photoshopped fake, I would be very skeptical of any images that claim to show a seagull bursting from effervescent antacid intake.
