Once the fry become free swimmers the adult male needs to be removed before he eats them. The babies will need to be fed very fine/microscopic food. This is available in most good pet shops. As they grow they will need to be moved into larger tanks and their food can slowly get bigger. When they are about 1/2 inch + long some will be starting to show that they are males by their colouring and fin development as well as their behavoiur. These will need to be placed in their own containers to grow on. A successfull spawning could easily produce over 100 males and the same amount of females.
Ya, if you put a male and female in a tank for a few hours. Once the female is done laying eggs take the male and female from from the tank and keep them seperate. If you don't remove them they will eat the eggs. In about a week they will hatch. And in about a month they will be full grown. That is the soonest the fish go again. Betta fish eggs are not sold in stores as standard. Typically, when you buy a betta in the store, it's already about 2 years old as it takes a long time to get their nice fins.
If you would like to try breeding them, you will need proper tanks, and of course a male and female betta that can only be together for the breeding phase, but then must be separated after; the male remains with the bubble nest as he cares for them rather than the female.
Yes, a person can sell baby Beta fish. However, it is advised to wait a few weeks so they are big enough.
no. the oils in your hands are bad for there slime coat
When your Betta fish is fasting it means it is not eating, this usually happens after the Betta has bred and it will not eat until all the Betta eggs are hatched.
It might meen that your betta fish is about to lay eggs.
Some are, most are not.
the male betta does, the female just swims away.
prity much any fish will eat its eggs if it gets the chance
Yes.
The amount of eggs they can lay at once varies.
the female betta fish are released from a vent while a male embraces her
Your betta fish may have been impregnated before you got her.
I am not certain but here is some information it will probably die but this will usually happen when your male betta fish is caring for the eggs because the betta is scared it might do an accident and eat one of its eggs instead of the betta foods that you give it
No. A male Betta is needed to spawn out the female and fertilise her eggs.
A tiny bit of unadulterated, finely shredded, tuna flesh would be OK occasionally, provided the Betta recognises it as food. On no account leave any uneaten food in the tank it will foul the water and kill the Betta.
