Plasma TV's don't have LCD screens. They're plasma screens and they usually will cost more than the TV itself.

What is an lcd panel and how is it used?

An LCD panel is actually a LCD screen that is part of your computer monitor or LCD Television. There are different types of screens such as plasma as well, but to answer your question, an LCD panel is the LCD screen on your monitor or television (provided it is an LCD model).

Why is there plasma in HDTVs?

There is only Plasma in Plasma HDTV's. Not all HDTV's. It is part of the technology that creates your picture. Like a tube in an older television.

What is the most dangerous germ in the world?

I am not quite positave, but i think that the answer to this is PLASMA. not like your plasma TV, rather plasma from the sun. This is part of the reason why we wear sun screen and it helps our tan along. However, this Plasma can be very dangerouse. It may kill a human being when exposed for to long (don't worry, you will KNOW when you are exposed for to long) and it can burn any part of your body. It is extremely radio active and VERY VERY VERY dangerouse.

How are these colors used to produce the millions of colors seen on screen?

A See Through clear black screen somehow has the colour pigments of red yellow and green. The Screen themselves are made of some kind of focil fuel. but any any case if you use any black type substance is will have colours naturally inside them. The Strange thing is, its the colours that create the black screen, the screen itsleft is not black, but it is made of all the colour pigments. Then all you have to do is activate the colours of the screen by allowing Different electrical signals into them, the best way that works is through a Plasma Type Liquid which is held inside a second white screen. The Colours are at the front of the tv which make up the black or gray image, and the main white screen sends different signals of white light to the colours. Its also not to difficult if the information in the signal is compressed and the with some type of lense the like the Plasma liquid. The Plasma liquid slows down the electrical signals and redistributes the Electrical signals to the Colours if the Gray black screen. So the Plasma liquid captures Compressed electrical signals and they spread through the area of the plasma liquid at all angles, so potentialy you can have any shaped tv you want with a Plasma Screen, Because the Electrical signals Redistribute to all angles of the screen, Its The Central Part of the Plasma Screen That has The Perfect recorded Signal as Electricitc Works Best when Traveling In Straight Lines.

Lcd or plasma?

I have owned both and if you buy a plasma tv , make sure it has burn in protective properties to prevent artifacts from remaining on the screen. By artifacts I mean , for instance, the station logos like TNT, CBS, SCYFY that normally appear in the right lower corner of your screen. They, and any fixed images as such, are always there causing the gas pixels in a plasma tv to degenerate faster, whereas an LCD tv uses liquid crystal and has less chance of burn in or artifacts from making themselves part of the screen. Other than that , the picture on both sets can be awesome on the higher cost brand name products as well as some of the other less expensive less popular brands of TV. It's just the matter of longevity. I owned a 42" Haier which has since been replace by a Toshiba Regza 42" LCD and am much happier with the LCD tv due to the burn in issues I was beginning to have with the Haier plasma tv. Otherwise the performance and picture quality was still equal when viewing HDTV or DVD's. My suggestion to you is to check on-line at www.consumersearch.com on the differences then go to a television store / sales rep and have him explain the same differences and benefits before you purchase either.

Do plasma televisions emit smell?

Normally Plasma televisions do not emit smell. When a TV is brand new, a part might heat up and burn off a piece of glue. Otherwise, it should not emit a smell. Normally, it would not emit a smell.

How actually is plasma used to manipulate colours in a plasma tv?

A plasma TV should be called a "fluorescent TV" but plasma sounds better. So they're two things inside a pixel that create colour. First step would be to run electricity through each cell and ionise a gas, which makes the gas a plasma, which emits UV light. The second part is when this UV light hits a phosphor which is coated inside the pixel which emits the colour you see.

A television screen is light gray when not illuminated This being so how is the blackness of sunspots similar to the blackness in images on a television screen?

Assuming CRT type display then when a black part is shown then if you just look at the black part with the rest of the picture covered or sheilded then you will see that the black is still grey or same as when tube is not illuminated. Bottom line-- no such thing as black on screen , only black compared to rest of picture ! I invite you to try it ! Pete

Does a big screen tv use more electricity than a small screen tv?

A large television screen will use more power than a small one although the difference isn't great. A television uses power to process the incoming signals and prepare them to be sent to the display itself. This process is the same, regardless of the size of the screen so it will use the same amount of power for a large or small screen. Processing video signals uses a significant amount of power, especially if it is running an HDTV signal. The screen itself will use more power as it gets larger. An LCD television requires higher power back lighting as the screen increases in size. A plasma television will use more power to drive the larger pixels. It is this part of the television that will consume additional power as the model increases in size. As an example, a 32 inch and a 46 inch model from the same manufacturer consume 99 Watts and 131 Watts respectively. Bear in mind that the 46 inch television has a screen that is more than twice the area of the 32 inch.
