if u want to disable it , there is a fuse box in the engine compartment , pull the fuse your abs will be disable, why take it off anyway
The simplest way is to pull the fuse for the ABS system. This is obviously a safety related issue so be sure to understand all the ramifications before proceeding.
My question to you is why? ABS works and is a great safety feature. If you REALLY want to.. unplug one of the wheel speed sensors. This will also disable your electronic traction control. Can't have one without the other.
== == Nope... double check the connection in your abs, common issue in the Golf, if you had electronic work done i.e sound system, there's a bypass they sell at vortex for like 20 bucks == == need a $500 scanner, shops charge $50 and up
I'm not a mechanic anymore but that sounds like a very bad idea to try to disable your anti lock brakes. ABS is there for safety and even if you were to find a way to disable it your car's computer would probably have issues because it is an electronic system that controls it.
Yes James Maslow has abs, in fact you have abs and I have abs, we all have abs.
Why would you want to do this? ABS have saved me more than once. Practice using them and leave them alone. They are a great safety feature. If you do not think so then all I can say is that you are dead wrong and I will not help you disable your ABS. ABS allows you to keep control while under full braking and still be able to steer around trouble. On the other hand if your ABS has failed and is not working properly, then you still have regular braking ability and there is no need to try and bypass the system. The EHCU can malfunction and cause brakes to go out, replacement is $1300. Or you can bypass the EHCU and save money. The EHCU has 2 lines going into it and 3 out. The 2 "in" are from the combination valve, 1 for rear system and 1 for front system. The 3 "out" are split into 1 for rear brakes and 2 for front brakes. For the rear system, all you have to do is connect the rear out from the combination valve to the line that once connected to the EHCU for rear brakes. Front system. From the front out on the combination valve, install a T in the line. The 2 ends of the T connect to the lines that used to go to the EHCU for front brakes.
does it have abs
The ABS light will remain on and the ABS will not function.
It will bolt in but the abs light will illuminate and the abs will not function.
Boss uses buffered bypass, not true bypass.
The correct spelling for bypass is "bypass."
