reprogram ecm.
Is there a way to bypass the ECM in a 1993 chevy s10 4.3 vortec
I just replaced the ECM and the code went away. I was not able to read any of the sensors on the engine with the scan tool. Once the ECM was replaced, everything was OK>
The ecm (engine control module) controls the engine functions based on the information it receives from various sensors.
No you can not , That is what makes and keeps the engine running
First of all what is the problem you are having? The main thing the ECM on this vehicle is controling is the fuel richness. In other words if the ECM is not working then the jeep is either not running or not running well ie.. too rich (black smoke) or to lean. The stock carb is garbage and should be replaced with something like a motorcraft 2100 ( better than weber) and do nutter bypass. with # 49 jet should pass inspection. Nutter bypass will bypass ECM and run much better.
Sounds like your ECM, the main computer on your car that receives messages from all of the sensors........ it might not be working. Or maybe the bulb for the engine light on the dash board is out. I'm pretty sure that if the ECM is bad, your car won't work at all. Does your car work at all???
If you want your vehicle to operate properly, you don't. If you bypass or disable the ECM, the motor isn't simply going to revert to functioning like a mechanical motor - many components of an electrical motor are dependent on the ECM in order to properly function. If you want to bypass the speed governor, you need that to be reprogrammed.
No. The ECM not only actuates the fuel pump, but also adjusts the rate at which it pumps fuel.
The engine control module is required for the engine to operate and can not be bypassed.
Are you trying to put a V8 in it or what. If you are keeping the original motor in it, the answer is YOU CAN>T
There is not one sensor. All the ECM sensors are tied to the check engine light.
