If you are studying full time you can not collect on an unemployment claim.
Right now there is a temporary waive on this rule that President Obama put into effect in June 2009. You are now considered able and available for work even though in school. You can't quit your job just to take advantage of this change though. It is for people that already have lost their job and need new training due to the economy. It is not part of the TRA claims that are a different animal entirely, reserved for those whose jobs have been sent overseas.
yes
no . never .
I worked in NY for 6 months. I live in New Jersey. I was told by NJ Unemployment when I tried to claim benefits that I would have to claim my unemployment benefits in the State of NY.
If I work a part-time perdiem job doing home healthcare and the client I have been assigned to has stopped services, am I eligible to collect unemployment
Note: this answer is not specific to New Jersey, but is how it works in most states. If this actually has a financial impact on you, you should contact the state's unemployment office for a definitive answer. For days they aren't called in during the school year, yes. Over the summer break, no, unless they have qualifying income from some other job, in which case they may be able to collect unemployment based on that income.
My husband can't remember if he did collect or not from NJ and we're trying to find how we can find out online.
If tou are a resident of NJ, then you apply in NJ.
unemployment is about run out. how do I apply for an extension.
I doubt it. Technically you are still employed by the company that suspended you and the presumption is if the allegations are unfounded you should be able to return to work at full pay.
I'm pretty positive he/she cannot. I live in Trenton, NJ, and my once-aspiring unemployment hopes during the summer break are quickly vanishing.
